4th of July 2011

Another 4th of July has come and gone too quickly. We have started a tradition of spending the 4th of July at Eshquaguma. It is a tradition that I absolutely love and look forward to every year. Our 4th of July break was perfect. The weather was the best it has ever been, in the 80's every day, except the day we left. The water was warm which it usually isn't. The 4th of July parade was eventful and we even won 2nd place!!!! We did a spin on MN shutting down all government run organizations indefinitely. It was pretty funny! We learned from last year that the golf cart competition is fierce so we opted for the group competition this year. Last year we didn't place, so getting 2nd this year was a big deal for us. Spending time with family, laying and playing in the sun, golfing, eating at the country club, and watching our own 'private' firework show made the vacation unforgettable.

This year was black and white from last year regarding the activity of the twins. Last year, the twins just sat, crawled, walked in the grass and sand. Sat in the water and splashed around, built sand castles, and still napped twice a day. This year, the twins ran everywhere. Played in Ethan's jumpy jump, Ethan's sprinkler, rode the jetski, rode in the boat, tried to swim, threw sand, payed toy golf, kicked and threw every kind of ball, played with balloons, followed Ethan around, chased the dogs, played with shovels in the sand, and only napped in the afternoon. It was chaotic but fun.

All week we were worried if Chase and Mason would regress in their potty training success, but we had half success. Chase pretty much is potty trained in the day but still wakes up wet sometimes from bedtime and/or nap time. Mason on the other hand has decided that he doesn't want to be potty trained and he'll go on the potty when he wants to. He has gone on the potty a few times while at Grandma and Grandpas but it is a far cry from him going on the potty at our house 80% of the time. We are not going to push him, but we are keeping the potty out for when he wants to go and hopefully he will be potty trained before baby #3 comes.

Fun, Fun vacation!!! I even got tan which is rare! :)
